MARKET NOTES-

How To Use

  1. Stocks Picks will be listed with an alert price. This is the price the stock must hit to enter a position. Depending on market conditions, the entry price may be higher or lower than the alert price. However just because the alert price is touched does not mean it’s an outright buy or sell. One must first see the volume for the day at the time the alert price point is hit and take notice of the volume before considering entry. If the alert price is not hit after five sessions, the stock will be removed.
  2. I give setups of stocks that are potentially ready to move. Not all of the stocks listed are necessarily positions I am taking in my personal account. Stocks that breakout and move with high above average volume seem to work out best.  I typically do not take a trade unless the confirmation volume level is reached. You should watch your stock’s action and volume characteristics. Stocks that hit first target will be highlited in green.
  3. Remember, be patient. It takes time for some stocks to get to the potential target. Make sure you adhere to your stops. If trading were easy everyone would be making millions. It’s not; it takes years of hard work , trial and error and hours.
  4. Stocks will be updated on the watch list as often as daily, depending on nightly scan results. The potential trade will detail Company name, Symbol, Long or Short, Alert Price (used as a trigger to enter; will vary), Minimum Volume, Stop Loss (will vary depending on each individuals risk level), Target Level (potential only).
  5. *Note – Always use stop loss protection or have a strict risk management plan. Be sure to review the resources at The Trader’s Bullpen and Recommended books.
  6. *Note – Remain flexible in closing out a position. If a stock does not appear to be behaving as anticipated, the position should be closed. Don’t wait and see if the stop is hit.
  7. *Note – Sell 75%  of position when stock is up 8% from entry price. Book some profits and let remaining stock run, using trailing stops.
  8. *Note – Do not buy if stock gaps up more than 5% above alert price.
  9. *Note – Volume confirmation increases probability of success.
